Project terms, no fine print games.
The deal for website projects delivered by Web Slabs Design, a Handy Services company. Written to be read. These apply unless your signed contract says otherwise. Last updated 22 September 2026.
The short version: 50% deposit to start, staged payments on milestones, you own the finished site the moment the final invoice clears, and two revision rounds are included at every stage.
1 · Quotes and acceptance
Instant estimates on this site are indicative only — a written quote follows after we've talked. Quotes are valid 14 days and exclude VAT (we're not VAT registered). An accepted quote plus cleared deposit forms the agreement.
2 · Deposit and payments
- 50% deposit before work begins — it books your slot and covers discovery and design.
- 40% at milestone on larger builds (approved design / staging site ready). Small projects skip this.
- Final 10% on completion — the site launches and hands over when it's paid.
- Invoices are due in 7 days; long-overdue work pauses and can accrue interest per the National Credit Act.
- Hosting and care plans bill in advance, cancellable with 30 days' notice.
3 · Who owns the work
3.1 On final payment, the intellectual property in your finished site — design, custom code, written content — transfers to you in full. Modify, host, sell or license it freely afterwards.
3.2 Before final payment, drafts and unfinished work remain ours and may not be deployed or used commercially.
3.3 Tools stay ours: our internal frameworks, starter components and pre-built utilities remain our property, licensed to your delivered site. Third-party licences (fonts, stock, plugins) follow their own terms — we'll tell you which is which.
3.4 Portfolio: we'd love to show your finished site with a credit link. Say so in writing if you'd rather we didn't.
4 · Revisions
Two rounds per milestone are included. Extra rounds or new features get a mini-quote before any work — no surprise invoices. Out-of-scope requests pause the calendar until scoped.
5 · What we need from you
Content, images, logins and approvals on time — the calendar assumes them, and client-input delays shift delivery day-for-day. You warrant that what you give us to publish is yours or licensed.
6 · Defects and fixes
Free fixes for defects in our code for 30 days post-launch. Not covered: hosting changes, third-party outages, or edits made by others after handover. Care plans pick it up from there.
7 · Cancellation
Cancel in writing any time: the deposit plus work done to date is payable and nothing transfers until settled. We can cancel a project stalled 60+ days or in breach of payment terms, same accounting.
8 · Liability
Our total liability per project is capped at the fees paid for it in the prior 12 months; neither party carries indirect or consequential loss. Nothing limits liability the law won't allow limiting.
9 · Law
South African law governs; we resolve disputes by talking first; the Magistrate's Court has jurisdiction. Email acceptances count as originals under the ECT Act. How we handle your data is in the privacy policy.
